Puratos Philippines recently participated in the Davao Agri Trade Expo, demonstrating its support for the community, particularly cacao farmers. This significant event, one of the largest and longest-running in the agriculture industry, brings together various sectors. At the expo, Puratos Philippines showcased its Cacao-Trace sustainability program, which aims to create shared value in the chocolate value chain. The program focuses on improving the quality of cacao beans through enhanced fermentation techniques and providing farmers with essential training and resources. Additionally, cacao farmers benefit from receiving prices higher than the farm gate price and an extra chocolate bonus. For every kilogram of Cacao-Trace chocolate sold, €0.10/kg is returned to the farmers.
